Your content is safe...
...from theft. And you're assured of payment with ContentLok™.

ContentLok™ is a patent-pending method to safeguard a third-party's digital content and collect payment for such content residing on a local retail store server for the express purpose of burning such content to a CD or DVD, or transferring the content to a portable device such as a USB flash drive, for the purpose of selling the content to a consumer. Briefly stated, the method employs the following steps:

  1. Content files are loaded onto the local retail location server. Each is protected by a 128-bit encryption method.
  2. A small portion of each file is missing from the files on the local retail server. This is generally a 10 second segment of a song or audio file, or for software and video games, a portion of the executable file. This content resides on Integra's server.
  3. Each time the local retailer wants to burn (or transfer) a digital product (i.e. a song, audio book, video games, software package, etc.) for purchase by a consumer, an Authorization-To-Burn (ATB) must be obtained from Integra's server.
  4. To obtain the ATB, an authorized retailer empoyee must first enter on the myMEDIA BurnBar™ computer screen a password unique to that employee. This triggers the ATB which then streams the missing segment of the file(s) to the local retailer server.
  5. The ATB is logged on the Integra server. Once the content is burned (or transferred) a "completed transaction" message is sent to the Integra server by the local retailer server. The transaction is then logged as completed.
  6. If the content fails to build because the CD or DVD is defective, the ATB is canceled. If the '"completed transaction" message is not detected by the Integra server within a predetermined time (based upon the total time required to burn content) a warning is issued to Integra personnel of a possible attempt to illegally burn the content without loggin it as completed. A call is then made to the store to determine the exact situation.
  7. The Terms & Conditions document signed by each retailer purchasing myMEDIA BurnBar grants Integra permission to invoice the retailer for each product burned immediately upon completion of the burn process and, if deemed appropriate by Integra, to charge the retailer's credit card immediately for the digital purchase.
Your digital content is safe from theft with ContentLok™ and ensures payment by the retailer for the digital content sold to consumers.
